My hooker chrome headers are starting to pit and flake at the collector (in between each of the 4 header tubes on the welds). After all I went thru trying to get them to fit the 1st time... I'm beginning to wonder if I should yank them when they get bad enough and run some dumps underneath.

Any ideas?

Hookers

74bigblock,
I can't respond to your Hooker problem, but I do really like the torque thrusts on your Trans Am.I have a 98 Formula, and those wheels would make it a completely different looking car.Would like to ask you what size wheels, and what backspacing are you using?Tire size?

74Bigblock,

You are missing out on a great career. You should write Headlines for The Inquirer. "Hookers pitting after two seasons" suggest a completely different scenario to me!!!;LOLGuess I'm showing my age!

I've had mine on for 2 years now and no issues. Had them coated by Jet Hot before i installed them....

Bad press for Hooker?

I would send a letter and some pictures to the manufacturer and the retailer where you bought them. See if they expect this type of condition to happen after only two years. I have to assume the car is probably almost never wet or dirty. How can they expect you to keep those parts on a clean car like that?

Worst case, they don't respond or give you some weak excuse. Best case the right person catches hold of it and you get a new set. Of course then you have to yake yours off and reinstall.

Maybe I'll hold off on buying them for my car since the quality is questionable.
