I purchased this 1977 Corvette a year ago with most of my time and money spent on rebuilding the front end and rear end. When I purchased the car the horn was not working and I found that the pieces required to make the connection and sound the horn were missing. No big deal at the time. I purchased a new tilt/telescopic steering column and after putting it together I found that whenever I placed the pieces inside the horn assembly on the steering wheel the horn would sound... My initial thought was there must be a problem with the wiring in the steering column. Now I have to wonder if there's a short/ground somewhere in the circuitry between the steering column and the horn.... Any thoughts on troubleshooting? I plan on finding the hot and ground starting at the steering column and working my forward into the engine compartment. Thanks.
