I bought a new horn today, the one in My 81 sounds like a half dead cow under water.

Anyone how where in the heck I find the old horn to replace it ??

have somebody lay on the horn , follow your ears.......with the hood up....look by the headlights....may want to open them first.

Your car has dual horns. If only one of them works, it will sound like a "half-dead cow." Given that one of them does work, you may have a simpler problem than you think. Find the horns and take a look at the connectors. They get corroded over time. Clean all the terminals and give it a try.

You just might be able to sell that new horn on ebay.

They're up front, one mounted on the inboard side near each headlight assembly. Check out the wiring first as recommended, you may get away with repairing a broken or corroded wire instead of replacing the horn. (Fairly easy to get at from underneath.)

Thanks for that thead link, it sould make it nce and easy for me to find. I will check the wiring first, Im asuming the high pitch horn is the one thats dead from the sounds of things.

I never even considered fixing it until I almost got clipped the other day driving home from storage and realized you cant even hear it over the exhaust !!
