take a look, i don't know how to fix this for under $800 (money's tight and GM leather SUX!)

Your best bet is to find a set in a junkyard.
How did they get in this shape? Does the car stand in the sun all day?

i have no garage and they started to get like this before i bought the car and they just got worse

If money is tight >>

Go to Autozone and buy some $20 seat covers and just hide it until more money is available to fix it.

Gee, what a familiar site! My seats look just as bad. I think the person that owned my '84 before me beat it to heck. I threw on some slip covers for a while but they looked too tacky for me. I've been looking for replacement seats online and in junkyards to no avail. I got a decent price from a local shop for custom recovering, complete with new foam and embroidery, so I think that's what I'm going to do with mine.

I also need new carpeting and door panels. I've already replaced most of the dash and console components. So many things were missing or altered on my poor Baby. The clips in the dash that hold the screws to the dash bezels in place were missing so the guy just drilled new holes. It was a mess!

I found a box laying under the passenger seat and I plugged it into a harness that was just hanging inside the dash. I now have lights inside when I open the doors! I'm still trying to figure out how to hook up the rear defrost wires.

Good luck with the seats. And, have fun with your Vette!

I think thats what I'm gonna do for now (the covers). Can't find this color used seats ANYWHERE! Now is when I wish the interior was black or something standard.

By the way, debbie, i just redid my rear defrost wires with an electrical friend of mine. What's the problem?

There are wires hanging right next to the end of the rear window shocks where I assume the wires are to be attached. But how? There's a thing on the shock where it looks like a small screw can go in to hold the wire. But is that it? Just crimp one of those "things" at the end of wire and then screw it on to the shock?

Any help is appreciated. Thank you!

Debbie

seats

I have a set of 6 way power seats out of an 88 if intrested email me, they are tan.

The defroster connector is a spade connector. Male on the hydraulic and female on the wire. Simply plugs in. Other end of hydraulic has same set up to glass. This is on an 85.
Hope this helps.

Thank you Carlo, now I'll have to shut off my computer and go look!

Don't know if you've tried here, but these guys part out vettes for a reasonable price.

I think that my seats were worse than this. I recovered them with Not Quite Perfect leather and foam from Corvette America, and your right, if you want them to look new $800 will do it.
