Changing the belts are easy. Can you get the parts there or do you have to get it from a Parts mag. If you can get the parts there You might want to bring in the old belt or measure the old belt and think about how old they are and streched get some alittle smaller.
MAYBE someone here knows what the lenghts are for your belts.
If you are ordering them from a parts mag then size really doesn't matter unless they screw something up and give you the wrong size.
The oil tube.... Sorry I haven't had to do this, But MAYBE someone here can help you with it.

oil line

Sorry ... I cannot speak or write Italian. Two links below ... one is the correct kit you need to replace oil line from engine to gage on your vette. I believe the first link is for kit to fit small block engine (sbc) and the second link is for kit to fit big block engine (bbc). I suggest you phone Zip USA at 800-962-9632 and ask which kit is correct. Similar kits are available here in USA at most any auto parts store ... but those are "universal fit" and they will work but are not correct.

I believe the correct oil line for your 72 is made of black-colored plastic tubing.

Once you have gage removed and NEW line installed ... I suggest you leave the gage loosened and away from dash and place gage in plastic bag ... try this for a week or two of driving time ... this way, if there is a leak you will find it right away and before it drips into your dash & carpets.

Hello.. I have a 73 and had to change the oil pressure guage line when I installed my new radio. When I put everything back together the oil line leaked oil all over the newe radio, and new carpet that I had just insstalled. I had to remove the center gauge bezel to get to the oil gauge. It was made of a blue rubber hose. I bought the new line from Eklers in the it cost about $10 dollars. You just pull the old one thru the fire wall and Gromet. To install the new one you have to push the end thru the rubber gromet it takes a little work to push it thru the gromet. once you do this just reconect the line to the back of the gauge. and to the back of the manifold. Start the engine to make sure there are no leaks. then just reassemble back the way you took everything apart.
Hope that this helpse-mail me if you have any questions.

Daniel

If your original line is in place just tape it to the new line and pull it through the grommet in the firewall. It is easier than pulling the drivers dash apart which is a lot of work. The line attaches to the rear of the oil pressure guage with a pressure fitting. It can be reached from the passenger side by removing the end piece of the console and reaching up to the guage. Small hands help.

Make sure you tighten down sufficently or it will leak vast quantities of oil on your rugs as previously mentioned. The guages are simple mechanical guages and rearely fail so you may not need to replace it.

If you have to replace make sure you get the right one. There are different color lettering on different years. My 70 had green lettering and I believe 72's had the same. Later years had white lettering.

Thanks to all for the precious information.
You are fantastic.

Hi

I heard so much about leaks into the cabin, onto the radio, carpet etc.
Think about installing some kind of a shroud over the new line.
Once, the gauge is disconnected, it is easy to pull a tube or hose over the press line . With lots of fiddeling around, the gauge could even get some kind of a shroud to drain leaking oil into the engine compartment instead of into the cabin.

I also installed a low oil pressure cut off switch ( 8 PSI ) to protect the engine from oil pressure loss as this gauge is not in my eye view and no red warning light or sirene comes on.

Nothing against originallity, but a bit of protection and safety doesn't harm and does not modify the car permanently.

Good luck. Gunther :w

Thank to all!
I bought the parts from ecklers!
In the next week end I will try to install it.
I hope to see all you soon in the CAC forum.
If you will go in italy contact me, i will happy to receive you.

Have a good week!
