ok, I've replaced the ignition switch and the new one is very hard to turn (much like the old one), Seems like something is rubbing hard inside the column. Does something need grease??lol the new switch turned very freely when it wasn't installed in the column.....Please help.
You didnt change the switch just the lock tumblers. The switch is accuated by a rod to the switch down below the dash. You may have a wireing cable resting against the rod. Also there is a rack & pinion in the column that may need cleaning and a lube. Do you have a Heims service manual? If not get one Ecklers or Mid America has them. They are worth the money.Dont buy anything else.
