This should be an easy question. How much POR-15 does it take to paint a corvette frame?

And

What type of POR-15 should I use?

This stuff can really cover in a hurry. I would doubt that you'd need more than 2 pints. And that should get you two coats.

Hi Tom: Like the other post sez: "a little bit goes along way"

If you're only doin' one frame & that's all, get the smallest container (pints, I think) & only open up what you need. Once exposed to air, this stuff has no shelf life. You can, however, prolong shelf life by putting the remainder of the Por-15 not used into a tightly sealed glass container & put it in the refridgator (not freezer). Also, in order for this stuff to adhere properly to your surface, you must use the "metal ready"; just spray it on the surface, let it set for about 20 minutes or so & wipe it off; let dry & then apply the Por-15. If your applying over rust: make sure that all of the loose stuff is removed; then use the metal ready & then apply Por-15. I would use the rust coat semi-gloss black (or frame black) on the frame: this looks as close to original frame coloring & finish. Por-15 is not UV protected & will fade, especially the gloss black. To get the best results, use the top coat over the rust coat. If you follow their directions, you can acheive great results with this product. You can either brush it on or spray. Spray does the best job, but brushing it on looks good too (this stuff flatens out pretty good as it drys & looks nice). Don't get this stuff on yourself: there's no way to remove it, it will have to wear off. Not good to get it all over your hands & have to stand up in a wedding the next day. Not cool at all! contact Por-15 www.por15.com to get all of thier products. Good luck on your project.

Peace: DAVE
