1995 Dark Red 6spd Convertible
I have been reading about the Copper Metallic Vettes and how rare they are. I'm interested in knowing how rare a 1995 Dark Red Metallic 6 spd convertable is.

How can I tell ? ;shrug I have production figures for the convertables but it seems not many had 6 speeds and even fewer ( of course) were dark red metallic.

I know its not like L-88 rare or anything like that , but its just fun to know how many are out there.

How can I tell ? How do the copper metallic C4 guys know only 3 convertables were made ?

Jim Bob, I just checked our 1995 Corvette Production Page in our Model Center. There were 20,742 Corvettes built. 4,971 of them were convertables, which comes out to about 24% of production in 1995. The Model Center dosent have any numbers on how the trannies are broken down between coupe and convertible. It looks like only 4,784 'Vettes were built with the 6-speed. 24% of that is 1,148.

I just checked my "bible", the Corvette Black Book, and there were a total of 1,437 Dark Red Metallic Corvettes were made. There's no further breakdown of how many of those 1,437 were convertibles and/or 6-speed.

Any way you look at it, I'd say one of 1,437 is sort of rare. :)

So if the percentages are correct and my math :eyerole
maybe 80 to 90 were made like mine ? 100 on the high side ?
does that seem correct ?

Again its not for anything other than fun and my interest.

Your close .You really need "the Black Book".go though all your options .percentages suck but it's all we have on production cars.

I had an 03 that by percentage it was one of a kind.Still took me a year to sell it at ave book.:eyerole

But it's all fun to know.

1995 vette

It's good to see people looking up what thay have you never know what you will find out about your ride. Looked up my 1995 vette It's kind of rare only 756 made like it in 95, It has all the good stuff RPO Z07 FX3 FE7 GM3 J55 KG9 DL8 C68 and on and on . I was plaining to do up grades on the car GM did it for me, thanks GM. It has few motor up grades more in air out stuff it runs with the c5s not z06 they are fast. cam and heads could run with them to. Thinking about doing It. LLoyeds heads and cam 420 RWHP Move over Z06. Got a deal on the vette the guy who owned it did not do this home work. I did and I got a deal. Look It up you might be happy you did. I was.

I like the GM factory upgrades as well. I looked for several years before I found what I wanted with a 6 speed and all the goodies I had read about in the vette magazines. My car was ordered for a specific purpose by the original owner, to build the fastest LT1 C4 convertable possible from the factory.
I thought that was cool, :cool like I had actually checked off the option list.
Those little RPO codes are why I own the car now.
