How to determine uniqueness

First and foremost, thank you. That's all, just thank you.:w

Your Welcome.........it truely is a thankless job....the "Thank You's" are few and far between but thats not why I do it. I do it because I want to help people.

On a lighter note, I recieved a call last week and have been accepted as a NASCAR Firefighter. I have my training this week and will start my new part time job at the Daytona 500. When I retire for the City I work for maybe this will work into a full time job later in my life.

XLR8, thank you for working those numbers for me. :D

Congrats on the new job! I'm sure excitement doesn't even begin to describe your feelings about it. Good luck with it. Smile and wave at us when the camera comes your way. ;)

You're welcome on the number crunching. Anytime. BTW - go back and take another look at the numbers in post #60, I added figures for the Dual Roof Panels also.

Take care!

I'm working on getting a database going and have a few questions for you all.

Does anyone know if the options codes stay the same from year to year for the same options items or groups?

I'm going to use the 1989 year as a starting point to create the database, if you have a 1989 vette, and would like to help, please post or E-mail me your codes. Thanks!

Well, they stayed the same, unless new options were added, or colors were changed.....

Cool, then that makes it much easier. Thanks !

Further info

EttevroC and ProEMTPFF -

MyOtherCar has another thread on Corvette uniqueness which you may want to check out.

http://www.corvetteactioncenter.com/forums/showthread.php?t=62204

He has purchased a book called Cor-vette Specs which sounds as though it has an even more detailed breakdown of options. The only one I found online is for the C4 generation only, but this is the generation you guys would be interested in anyway.

Good luck with your research. BTW- was able to sit down briefly with the mathematician yesterday and she said our figures looked right to her.

Enjoy those cool and unique Corvettes!

Very Cool XLR8 thanks for the reference, I'll go check it out. I too purchased the Cor-vette Specs and noticed that it had a better breakdown of options than were quoted from the Black book mentioned here in this thread.

Thank again for getting with your mathematician friend and have her check out the logic we were all trying to grasp. :) Thank her as well!

You're more than welcome! Ditto from my friend the mathematician (who is not only smart, but beautiful AND a natural blonde!).

I'll pose the same question to you that I asked of MyOtherCar - Is there a reference in the book to the factory installed luggage rack on the '94 (TR convertible)? Maybe it was not factory installed but dealer installed after purchase.

Can't beat brains and beauty, I'm sorry I can't say the same about myself; on ether case :L Thanks to good people like you, I'm catching on...

I looked it up and it doesn't mention any luggage rack, ether in the Option Data or in the MVMAS Summery of specs and options. Maybe that was a dealer installed option, a handy item to have if one travels allot.

Thanks for checking the option for me. And as far as I'm concerned, a smart man doesn't know all the answers, he's smart because he's not afraid to ask questions.

Database update: I've finished creating the table of options from 84-90, man it is interesting how the options changed over the years.

In a few more days I'll have the 91-96 table finished and that's when I get my programing friends involved.

Cross your fingers and maybe in a month or two I'll have the Database up and running! WhoooHoooo!
