Hello All,

I am in the beginning stages of restoring my 1969 convertible Vette, and I already need help!

Does anyone know how to remove the interior door latch/lever? The driver's side latch is snapped off (I have to use the exterior door latch to open the door).

I removed the door panel, and examined what's left of the lever. There's a screw that appears to secure the lever. I removed it, but the lever won't come loose.... it's also held to the housing by a pin that goes through the pivoting area. This pin is looks to be permanent piece. I am not sure if the end of the pin needs to be grinded out to replace.

Any help at is appreciated. Thanks!

The one screw that you have already removed is the only thing holding the lever on. The stub may be stuck in place, gentle tapping in a forward direction should get it loose.

No need to remove the vertical pin.

Vettehead Mikey,

Thanks so much for your reply. I will definitely try it out this eve!

I ordered a replacement handle from Mid America Motorworks (madvet.com). I received a message that it shipped on 10/20... I hope they're good about delivery. It sure will be nice to be able to open the door without having to open the window.

Now, the passenger side's outdoor latch doesn't work... the wipers, parking brakes, clutch but those are others tasks!

Thanks again!
