How would you raise the driver's seat 1"?

My ancestors were all very short French and Italian peasants. At 5' 8" (on a good day), the non-power seat in my '00 FRC is too low. I'm looking for some ideas for raising the seat track about an inch.

I'm thinking of drilling a chunk of aluminum that will fit over the floor bolt between the floor and the seat track. Does anybody know of a fastener that is essentially an extension of the floor bolt?

Anyone do this or have alternative methods?

Thanks, Garibaldi

There are internally threaded steel rods that might work, but I think this solution would not be stable, since they are about 3/8-in diameter. A better solution would be internally threaded round aluminum stock, about 1.5-inch diameter. Thread it onto the mount bolts and use bolts instead of nuts to attach the seat rails. They might have to be longer than 1 inch to clear the stock bolts. Another solution would be similar, but have two threaded holes, offset.

I looked to raising the Driver's Seat on Mrs. Blade 300ZX (she is 4'11"), the dealer refused stating their liability if the seat broke loose in a wreck & airbag or seat belt injury.

She sat on a throw pillow until trading that Rice Rocket.
