HUD "Blue Out"

Hi. Driving down the freeway yesterday, with the sun over my left shoulder, I noticed that at certain angles of the sun the HUD would "blue out" and could not see the normal display. Other turns would cause it to affect only a portion of the display. Is this normal? If so, is there anything that can prevent this?

It's normal.

When the sun shines directly on to a portion of the HUD projector, it washes out that portion of the display. I don't know of any way to cure it.
