Welcome to the Corvette Forums at the Corvette Action Center!

I believe i own the ugliest C4 daily driver i bet you cant top it

I am not a professional; just used Mother's Metal Polish and a nice clean cloth, after the wheels were cleaned. The occasional touch-up goes quite quickly and lasts for months. :w
Hi WalePirot, I went to Pep Boys to find the polish you used and saw these 6 products, all Mothers : chrome wheel cleaner, aluminium wheel cleaner, mag & ali polish, billet metal polish, chrome polish and power metal & ali. Would you please tell me which one you used and whether it would work on my standard rims ? My wheels are a disgrace, right now !......Roger.:w

I would read the ingredients carefully and make sure there are NO abrasives in the polish.
I just had the rear bumpers rechromed (nearly $600.00) and I blame a jar of chrome polish for the swirl marks that ruined the finish on them.

Hi Mike, Got your PM. Looking forward to seeing you......Roger.
Ditto. I guess it was not clear that my wheels are not stockers.

Some owners strip the clear coat from the wheels, then polish them to near-chrome. I read and believe that the aluminum needs some work, like finish sanding, to get them ready for the polishing, but have not done the process. Not sure I would want to, given the visibility of the wheels and the amount of work; perhaps best left to a pro.

I should have the name of a guy in L.A. that does great polish at a reasonable price, according to a hot rod shop in Long Beach. (Shoot, now I have to look for that strip of paper!)

I apologize for any confusion but my offer still stands.:w
