I posed this question in my body drop post yesterday but it seemed to get lost in the excitement of the body drop and I may have appeared to be answering it myself but any comments would be appreciated so here it is again. Thanks all.

"The car seems to sit very high. The photo below shows the body completely resting on the frame. I know I will still be adding allot of weight with the trunk, deck lid, hood, doors, windshield, seats, convert top, etc. etc. Does anyone have any comments on the suspension height? (all the suspension components are brand new springs shocks etc.)"

Dont worry, it will settle down. Takes some time for springs to settle, and you still have a lot of weight to add to it. By the time its done it will sit fine.\

Give it time

I remember the question and I didn't have a comment. I think it looks acceptable now, and when you do add in the weight and the new parts "settle in" a bit I think it will be where it should be.

I think it is very nice. Once it's all done, you can assess the ride heigth and make corrections if necessary. :upthumbs

Drop a big block in it. ;LOL

High Setting 1961

If you installed all new bushings and springs or spring liners, it will settle with time. Where are you going to have the front end aligned? I used a framing square and a tape measure to get the front alignment close. Then took it to a good alignment shop to do it correctly. I drove my a few times prior to alignment to try and get it to settle as much as possible. I plan on having it realigned this spring.

It won't be long now! Your car looks GREAT!

Hi Ray,
I used a tape measure to align before I dropped the body. I also ran a string across the back tires and to the front tires to get it as close as possible so I could drive it to the alignment shop. I don't know who I will take it to yet but there are several shops in town I will talk to soon and see who's good with vintage cars.

Larry tonight was another night with no progress as I just go back from a fly fishing seminar, my other passion. If I ever put a big block in her would you lend me the shoe horn you used to put yours in with.

Gary do you need a grill? A new member to our forum gave me a heads up on one from cranes corvette. I have one on order with him
I may need a grill. I think the one I have is from a 62 and I don't remember exactly the condition it is in. I will be digging it out of the box soon. How much do they go for?
