This is a silly question, but which line (towards front of car or back) comming off the master cylinder goes to the front brakes? I could not remember and could not find it in any of the books I have. Thanks.

On my 84 the front cylinder goes down and turns toward the front of the car, while my rear cylinder goes down and runs toward the back of the car. I would assume the front goes to front and the rear goes to rear. Its like that on my 71, and seems it would make sense to engineer it that way.

Actually, neither of those lines go directly to the brakes. Both lines go to the ABS controller located in the compartment behind the driver's seat. One line is for the front brakes and the other is for the rear brakes but all of the lines to the wheels come out of the ABS controller.

You gussed it!

Thanks, a line lock it is. Looks like line towards the rear is the one I want. I thought it was because the rear piston of the MC was marked primary in one of my books. They showed which line was front and rear when it went into the ASR/ABS unit, but not where it came out of the MC. I knew someone here would know.
