build sheet

Hi Tom, Glad you got it. Great deal. Thanks for letting me know. How long did it take ? Save the Wave.>George

George, it took approx 8 weeks but worth the wait!! All of you that are waiting sit tight, you will receive the dealer invoice with a request to fill out a survey.
Tom

I got mine yesterday... Yipiiieee..
And while you wait check out their image site:
http://www.corvetteactioncenter.com/forums/showthread.php?t=63985

It's absolute worth the wait: For the first time i can actually be sure how my car was ordered and how much the dealer got charged with all the options listed (thank goodness it matches my car, phewww), as well as which dealer got it first. I call it a Rosetta Stone.. Thanks to the people with the info (LT1George & Platato) and especially Peggy. She must get a-gazillion of emails, but still has no problem with sharing the info to other Vette people. Awesome...
She is saying though, that Management is thinking of making it a payable service (i wouldnt care), so if you havent gotten your Dealer Invoice...

What about older C3s? I'd sure like an invoice for my 71.
I emailed Peggy about a 1971 ... she said she had only 1977 and up. Bless her heart, she replied to me very quick!

I had great communication with Peggy, unfortunatly they do not offer this for Canadian cars, we have to pay $45 to GM up here.:W

She was really nice and prompt.

Thanks anyway
Mart

Peggy called me this morning for my address so mine is on the way. I'll post what I think of it, how much detail, ...etc once it comes hopefully this week.

Hi Bob

Maybe I can help. There are 3 items being discussed and as I'm sure you've noticed each of them is different. But it gets confusing because some folks are calling them by different names.

Item 1 - Copy of original factory or dealer invoice

This is a copy of the invoice which (I think) the original dealer received with your car. It includes option codes and prices for your car, the name of the dealership it was shipped to, the date it was shipped, etc. This is the FREE item which can be ordered from GM, but it should be noted that apparently the response has been so great that GM is considering charging a fee for it in the future. The email address is GMMA.research@gm.com You should include the following information: VIN #, year, make and model and your home address.

Item 2 - Window Sticker

This is a copy of the original sticker which was on the window of your car on the dealer's lot. I'm not sure if 1977 model stickers are available or not.

Item 3 - Build sheet

This is a copy of the build sheet from the assembly plant. Again, I don't know about availability for the 1977 models.

Items 2 and 3 can be ordered from the National Corvette Museum website. There is a fee involved. I paid $95 for the window sticker (laminated), build sheet (laminated), a 1998 dealer brochure & the 2004 Corvette Black Book.

If I can scan and reduce sizes of these items I will try to post them later this evening.

Hope this helps and good luck finding your info.

To further what Jag said:
1. Peggy from GM is supplying a GM dealer invoice ONLY. I don't think she can go back to the early 70's.

2. Window Stickers: exact stickers can be purchased from the NCM on Bowling Green 1981's and all newer BG Vette's. Window stcikers for 1981 St. Louis cars as well as ALL St. Louis built Vette's are not available as originals. I have heard that some 3rd party company's can recreate your Window sticker from Build sheet and invoice data.

3. I'm not aware of anyone that can get original Build Sheet's for St. Louis built Vette's. Again the NCM can supply them for BG built Vette's for a fee. Refer to their website.

Hello!
The General Motor Dealer Invoice service is now being coordinated and managed by Allied Vaughn, a tier one supplier to GM. As of March 1, 2005, the cost for this service is $50 per invoice. Please contact me at gmma.research@gm.com for a request form. Invoices available are:
Chevrolets since 1977
Pontiacs since 1987
Buicks since 1982
Cadillacs since 1980

Fleet and exported vehicles excluded from the collection

The new process is expected to improve response time! I will still be servicing your invoice requests, as I am an Allied Vaughn employee. If you have any questions or concerns about the new fee, contact Chris Barkoozis, General Manager, Allied Vaughn, at chris.barkoozis@alliedvaughn.com.

My letter from Peggy arrived today. It is a copy of the dealer invoice. And amazingly it adds another piece of documentation to my rarity. Since many of you know my 1981 was/is the only documented '81 delivered in Primer paint (and this was verified on my Build Sheet I already got off the gas tank). To my total surprise, the Dealer Invoice that Peggy sent me also lists the "Special Paint - Body in Prime" on the invoice (at NC too)!!! It's amazing the difference in the actual dealer price and the MSRP for each option and the toal cost. It even goes so far as to list the Bank the dealer used to cover his stock!! This is outstanding and I will post a copy as soon as I can get one scanned up.

What a nice surprise!! Peggy came through in gold!!

Congrats! I ordered the build sheet and invoice from the National Corvette Museum--got 'em both laminated. They weren't free though. And I see the cost of my '93 was $37,603.00!!!! Sure wish they cost that now!!! :Steer

I'm in the same boat as Culprit- I need Peggy's e-mail address also, anybody, plz.
