... but I have to ask. ;)

Has anyone ever had to mount a "pedal stop" on their clutch pedal in a C4? With my Tilton Racing hydraulic release bearing, there is a pedal stop required so that I don't over-extend the piston, so now I have to figure out how to mount a stop on that skinny piece of metal. :hb

Anybody with experience on this please speak up. :upthumbs

No experience here but a couple of ideas.

1. Make an adjustable master cylinder actuator arm and set it up so that you get full release with the clutch pedal on the floor.
2. Mount the pedal stop on the floorboard. A piece of hard ¨D¨ contour rubber like they make boat bumpers out of should work.

Remember Spanish, it's a Tilton hudraulic release bearing; it has no "actuator arm", just hydraulic lines. ;)

That's one way, as my mechanic tells me. Thanks. :upthumbs

"Cut off my leg off just above the ankle..." Indeed! :L

it has no "actuator arm",

Sorry Ken, I have been in Span-land too long and am losing my ability to hablar de old English.:duh

I meant to say make an adjustable arm to fit between the clutch pedal and the piston on the other side of the firewall. This should limit the distance you could push the master cylinder piston without having a lump in the floor.

I have not done this on a c4 but have done it on several other cars, and will do it on my 71. I made a plate for either side of the firewall and mounted a jack bolt with a rubber head. On the back of the clutch arm i mig welded a small 3/16 plate about 2 inches square with a rubber surface. Work's great and wont put too much stress on the impact point. Paint it black and you are the only one who will know its there. Hope this helps robert

Thanks Robert, sounds like you thought this one out. :upthumbs

Spanish, after I replied to your post, I realized what you meant, but by then I was logged off. :o
