I gave my Corvette Black Book a quick look and found that blocks numbered 3782870 were used in the 1965 Corvette.
That doesn't tell me what other Chevys they might have been used in though.

Oh, Welcome to the CAC.

That's a pretty common casting number used from 1962-67 on a wide variety of cars and trucks. What's the casting date?

that number ur speaking of is supposed to be on the right front top of block and is not there

No, that would be the engine assembly date. The casting date is on the top rear of the block on the passenger side. The format will 'A 1 4 or 'A 1 64' for January 1 1964 depending which foundry cast the block.

there is a 3 digit number just below the distributor and to the right. the last 2 numbers appear to be 35 but cant make out the first one. there is a number 1 just above the 3 digit number

With "35" as the last two digits, it's a 1965 casting; it was cast at Saginaw and machined/assembled at Flint V-8, and since it's been decked and there are no longer any numbers stamped on the front pad, it could be from any passenger car, truck, or Corvette.

Nope. The stamping on the front pad (now gone) is the only positive identifier for its original application. The heads may or may not be original to the engine after 47 years - what are their casting numbers and dates? They're under the valve covers.
