When you C4 guys strip the wheels and do the restoration process, did you all remove the tires from the rims? If not how did you protect the tires from the stripper?

nyernga said:When I did mine 3 years ago or so, I kept the tires on the wheel. I used acetone to strip the clearcoat as the "professionsl strength" stripper was a joke. It's alot of elbow grease but well worth the effort.

nyernga said:I tried Buschs's Clear Coat remover. Got it from ecklers. It's gel like to stay in place but it did nothing to remove the clear. The acetone along with paper towels, a stiff brush and alot of rags and I was done in an afternoon.
