I have a question about my 84 Crossfire

I recently purchased my first corvette ever.... it's an 84 Z51 Bright silver with a 4+3 trans.... I was a little confused when I saw the CFI unit. Mine is black, but all the others i have seen or know of are a light gray... Does any one know the significance of my CFI being black or why?

Are you talking about the air cleaner cover? You can strip the coating off & paint it. I've never heard of any special cfi w/ a black cover.

Yes I am talking about the air cleaner cover. The wierd thing is that it isn't painted black... that is the color.... I am going to leave it... i don't mind it being black...its just different than anyone else.
