Tracing problem in courtesy lighting circuit and can't find the switch in the cowl area for the under hood light. Did they move it or do away with it on the 1982's?

Thanks

I'm purdy sure the light has a mercury switch built into the light it's self!!:thumbI know my 78 and 81 does!!:thumbThe switch under the hood on the A/C case toward the center of the car is for the factory alarm system on both of mine!:thumb:thumb:thumb

So is it a special light or is the mercury in the lamp base? I also don't seem to have the alarm switch around the AC case that you refered to. I'll put a meter on the lamp base just to confirm it has power. Thanks a lot. Tom

Here ya go. The merc switch is the cylinder by the C clip. It mounts inside the black split housing.

If you're looking for where it gets power, on 78-79s at least, it's simply spliced into the big red hot lead that goes to the alternator. There should be a fused link on it.
