Gone but not forgotten
My engine project keeps dragging on, and as someone stated last evening at Ruby's - "Sounds to me like your tuner's shooting in the dark."
If you've seen any of the latest in my Engine Project thread (I won't even bother linking it here. :L) you know that my latest dyno session still left me short of my predicted goal - about 100 horsepower short of what it's supposed to be! That is based upon what my engine builder spec'd, but that's another issue at this time. The bottom line is that it's still short, although by not as much, of a more reasonable prediction; I should be seeing at least 400 horsepower at the rear wheels, and I only see 388!
I will be performing a leakdown test sometime this coming week to I confirm that there is either no damage internally or the fact that there is damage to a valve, seat, or something else in the valvetrain. If it turns out there is no damage, I will be seeking the services of a good tuner in the Southern California area, hopefully in the vicinity of Los Angeles.
The first name that comes to mind is Steve Cole, but he's usually so backed up it takes forever to get in to see him.
I have faith in Rick, my TEC3 guy, but I'm just running out of patience, especially when I have to take ribbings about it on cruise nights like last night. :eyerole
Help me find a reputable, and knowledgeable, tuner in the Southern California area, please. ;help
