Hi, im about to turn 16 and am trying to buy my first corvette. I have found this one but i dont know if it is a good deal or not so please help me. It has 54,398 miles that i dont know are orignal or not. The owner says they just rebuilt the motor and repainted it. It is missing the interior becouse he quit restoring it. He is wanting $6,500 for it and i need help deciding. I dont turn 16 for 4 months so i would have time to work on it . Any help would be greatly appriciated.

Thanks in Advance,
John Paul Pearce

Great for you! your definatley on the right track stick with AMERICAN MUSCLE
I have some questions for you.

How much money do you have total for a car at this time?

Do you have a job to pay for your improvements and repairs?

Do you have mecanical ablity to do some repairs/improvements for your self and do you have some tools?

What do your folks think?

Have you found out about insurance prices?

Now for my advice I would pass on this car also I have not seen the pictures but I have found that the C3 are real affordable for some reason.Just because this car may have only 53,000. on it there are still repairs that will have to be done,Saftey items brakes, calipers, hoses, steering componets,Its still a 26 year old car and some peices need replacing from old age not just from wear and tear.My first car was a 1969 mustang that I installed a bigblock in.the car was in primmer for at least 8 months before I could afford to replace it.It was constantley needing repairs but I enjoyed doing them and my wife(then girl freind enjoyed the car as much as I did)

I absolutley think it is great that you are smart enough to seek out information prior to your purchase.Go on line and search some of the suppliers for corvette parts and make a list of what you think you are going to need to put the car together and start making a price list of what you need be smart about it.DEFINATLEY GET A CORVETTE!

Excellent advice above from guys who have been there, done that. Didn't get my first vette til 38 years old. The 1976 is one of the lowest-power, lowest value vettes out there, second only to the 165HP 1977. By comparison, I got my 88 convertible with true 60,000 miles for just slightly more than this guy is asking for a wreck in need of hours of work and cash. Hard to not picture yourself cruising into school in a vette but wait a bit. Here, a 16 year-old with a vette would pay over $2000/year for insurance.
Good luck, and try to reduce the size of the pic using your photo manager. RJS:Steer
