I noticed this 'W" on my intake manifold.......

The W is for Winters, the supplier that cast most (all) aluminum manifolds for GM. Stock piece.

I agree. Keep looking and you are likely to find the snowflake emblem also used by the Winters Foundry.

Look close at the picture- the "W" is surrounded by the snowflake. Gen-U-Wine GM part.
