While passing through my little home town of like 2,000 people I saw one sittin along the street today along with a 50th Anniversary Coupe. This was the first Z16 I have ever seen. I must say those cars are awesome. I had to go home and get my camera. Here are 2 sample pics and the rest can be seen here: http://www.villagephotos.com/pubbrowse.asp?selected=713532

My awesome S 10 is hiding in the background of the first pic!!!

Yesterday was finally a nice day around here (we've had nearly four straight weeks of rain) so I finally fired the Vette up for a little spin.

My sister-in-law was watching the kids so my wife and I took a cruise. I had promised one of the sales guys at Courtesy Chevrolet that I'd bring my car by so we ended up over there for a while. They had at least two of these in stock. One was out front to bring in customers and the other was back in the lot a ways.

All told I think they have about 80-100 Corvettes in stock. A few weeks ago I was sitting in one of the last two 2003s they had left - both being offered at 10K off sticker. It was almost too much to resist! :)

Sorry, my curiosity got the best of me, I needed to see what a Z16 was. I haven't seen a 2004 Commemerotive Edition ZO6 in real life yet. You are lucky to see and get pics. of one. Thanks for the pics. The plate said Z16 for some other reason, but it is a ZO6.

Reuben, there is one of those (Z16) sitting, parked on the shoulder of a road every day / night at a townhouse area nearby - I would never own a car like that if I did not have place to park it :eek

You should have seen how the snow plows blocked it in w/ snow mounds :(

Very cool! I havn't seen one in real life yet either. One time on the highway a Camaro came up behind me with a custom paint job to look just like the Z16. I was real excited for a split second!

The rest of the sports car world kind of smirks at all the "special edition" Corvettes out there. I think they are very cool, and it adds some variety to the mix. It surely doesn't hurt anything. I think it is jealousy.:D

Not sure what you are saying? The Z16 is the special edition Z06 for 2004. Has a carbon fiber hood, and LeMans racing paint job.

It does still have a Z06 badge, though. There is nothing on the car (that I could find) that says Z16.

Yes, the Z16 is the Z06 Commemorative Edition.

Then there are the Z15's, which are the regular coupe and convertible CE's.

It's just the production code, or something like that. There aren't any badges or anything on the car that actually say Z16.

I had the opportunity to check one out last Saturday at the dealership where I bought my 94. Pretty sweet ride, with a sticker price of 57k I think. :eek

Well Ill jump in here,As far as I am concerened (and I know Ill get CRAP for this comment)A Z16 was and still is A 1965 396-375H.P. Chevelle.Now renaming A Z06 (which was a C-2) AND also A C-5 is OK BUT, A Z16 will ALWAYS BE A BIG-BLOCK CHEVELLE TO ME!!!!!!!!!:D :D :D

Never heard of the z16, maybe it is some sort of production code. I always heard and read of it referred to as the commerotive edition 2004 zo6. Hmm. I saw the license plate that said z16. Strange?, but I'll take is as you guys say z16.

There is only one Z16 and it IS the 1965 396-375H.P. Chevelle.
First come, first served.

Hopefully this will help a bit . . .

There's been 1 of these beauties setting on the turntable @ the NCM the last few weeks. It might possible set there until the raffle is over.

There are quite a few of them going down the production line. 1 Sweet Looking Vette! :upthumbs

They kind of remind me of the way the GS's were marketed back in 95/96.

Later . . . . . .

Oh man, when I saw that second picture of the mod party, I literally drooled! :L

6 Shooter, I'm going the the C5/C6 Birthday Bash, so I'll get to see the one you spoke of!! Will you still be in Bowling Green during this event? Maybe we'll see each other if you are. I wish I have $150 to spend on a raffle ticket!
