Welcome to the Corvette Forums at the Corvette Action Center!

I wonder how many new members will show up here

Hey gang...imagine a Corvette forum with no moderators. It would be a blast.:cool Anarchy is under rated.

Well, actually there is one, started years ago when the NCRS closed their own 'off topic' board. I'm an original member as are one or two others that hang out here...

Not free to join in terms in cost, but free in terms of no overbearing mods or rules. It's self moderated which can be interesting at times.

Having said that, the ladies and gents who do mod and admin duties here are very cool, cheers to them :beer

Hey Gary, nice pattern on that ring.
Hey Mikey, if you can't slam the aftermarket stuff what good is a forum.
Seriously, this forum has assisted me in a total nut and bolt off frame rebuild of my '74. Not once have I been let down by the members here. Other than Mikey questioning my product selection that is. They can keep their forum.
WELCOME NEW GUYS

Next time I'll keep my mouth shut- it's your money and you can waste it on whatever you like. I'm sure you have a wife or GF that reminds you of that, no need for me to prove her right. :rotfl :beer

To be fair, it was my question that started the whole thing. I got tired of screwing up time and time again after trying to bend some line so I asked if anyone could just bend one for me. I got asked why I just dont use one of the prefab braided lines. I said if I wanted braided line I would have already made braided line. Lars came on with some great advice, emailed me all of his papers on how to bend line etc etc and sent me a lot of pictures of finished products. Using his techniques I was able to get a good working product finished. Im still not totally happy with it but I got something working while I can practice more.

Mikey doesn't have to imagine it... although I'm not sure how active their forums are nowadays since everything is under privacy lock. I was invited to be a charter member but I didn't like the price of admission.

One of these days, we're gonna have to get together and do coffee, Mikey. Do you get to Ottawa at all? I tend to avoid Montreal as the traffic is special there.

VH is stronger and crazier than ever. Not for the thin skinned or slow of wit. We meet in person at Carlisle every year as well as the NCRS show in Kissimmee FL. There's three or four other CACers that are also VHs but we don't disclose that in public. You lurkers reading this know who you are. Membership requirements include recognizing that a person's liver is evil and must be punished. Calling a spade a spade is also expected and only discontinued if racial overtones are inferred by others .

We do get up to Ottawa now and then- Deb has family all over the area and most recently we were in Kanata for a b/day party. 'Willy's Pizza' mean anything to you? This was followed by a little real estate hunting in the Perth-> Merrickville area. Waterfront along the Rideau is in our future.

I'm in touch with Wendy at CCC now and then, we were up for their 35th anniversary bash in June

That's us front row, 3rd from the right. Didn't see you there....................:confused

I'll let you know next time we're on out way up. The LCBO and Beer Store near Bank and Walkley are always on our route.

Don't blame yourself- it was a perfectly reasonable question to ask. Lars walked after getting tarred with the same brush as the guy acting like an a-hole. Another 15ish of us got followup knuckle raps 'cause we dared mention the obvious elephant in the room.

Here's yet another example of clumsy over-moderation

Engine Decking??? - Corvette Forum

Seems all they know how to do is lock stuff rather than guiding it back on track in a positive manner. :ugh

I like the waterfront on the Rideau too but picking the right spot is essential. Initially, we were looking on the Riverside but we ended up on the Prince of Wales side instead, a couple kms south of Hogsback. Unfortunately Mrs Mac isn't happy so we may end up resettling into a small house... hopefully with a bigger garage...
