I am trying to think this whole sorted thing through. I really want to get enough $$$ together to put a Richmond 6 in my 69. That would be easy to do if I put the 90 back to stock form and sold it. However, the 90 is also so close to the perfect street blend.

My recent 1/4 mile runs with the car proved to me that she is up to the task of running 12 second 1/4s. Granted I did not get there, I could see the weak spots in my driving, the clutch, and tires that kept me out of that zone. The engine felt fantastic running on the edge of the danger RPM zone. It was begging for more. The Miniram is a awesome perfect mod for the L98 engine to allow it to breath and stretch out that extra 1,500 RPM.

I have no trouble autocrossing the car in SCCA solo II as a E MOD in the current configuration. However, to run in the local Corvette sanctioned club racing, the heads, intake, cam, etc. put me in a special class that then requires saftey mods to the car. I think this is very poor rule planning, but it is the rule non the less. So, here would be the future "wish list"

1. Full saftey roll cage as required by the club racing
2. Bigger brakes
3. New adjustable suspension and bushings
4. Z51 rack
5. 3.73 or 4.09 rear gear
6. bigger injectors (or just new ones)
7. Stage VI chip or like kind and quality
8. Ram Air (homemade through the front license spot)
9. ZR1 rims, and gran sport rear flares
10. Bigger exhaust pipes with X pipe in middle

Now, all of this stuff is going to set me back like $5,000. So, how should I go about talking Mrs. 69MyWay into the mods???????

(remember, I just slid the project of the century past her with the building of the 69, so I am seriously pushing my luck!)

I think that's going to be the toughest challenge of all!:L

Diamonds usually work, but then you will be too broke to actually do anything to your Vette anyway:(

PS, Grand sport offsets are the ones you really need, if you weren't thinking it already

Presentation is the "Key"...

Try to envision this...
Chris, I think what you should do is say,"Nicki, I think your driving talents are wasting away in the stock class that you compete in with the C-5, and I was thinking that if YOU wanted to step up to the faster class, instead of making your C-5 race only, I would CONSIDER making the neccesary mods to the 90 for you to compete at the level you are capable of, because BABY, I support you 100%" LMAO.... and you could also throw in a few comments about how she always did well in the 90, and that she always seemed to have a connection with that car, etc. etc...... and as far as parts go, I saw a 4 or six point C-4 cage on E-Bay just a couple of days ago, and if I'm not mistaken, it only went for about $400... so you might could bring in the whole project for less than your projected $5,000., just a few thought's.....

I like the way you guys think.

I actually did the big diamond thing at our five year wedding anniversary. Ouch, that hurt the bank account, but she loves it, and that is all that matters.

Hmmm, so I mod the car for...her, then I happen to drive it when she does not feel like it. Good plan.

Now, to keep her from seeing this thread!

Hey Chris...

Can you make this an "Invisible" thread like some of our members do when they don't want to be seen online ? LMAO...

:L No, instead how about if we make it visible again? Chris was well on his way with this project, until Dave's car took precedence. ;)

Yep, you are right Ken. In fact, last night I asked her if she could figure out what has changed. She thought for a while and then gave up. I said, "Hey, it has been a couple of weeks and I have not spent a dime on a car (at least one I own)" Having the 90 at Dave's, and the current chilly weather, makes doing any mods or any other stuff pointless right now.

But.....spending Dave's money is a blast.

Chilly weather???

Chris, you need to come up to Chicago and endure one of our winters!:L :L :L

Yikes! I already escaped from Michigan, and am in no hurry to go back to freezing my ying yang off! We have had frost on the grass the last week or so, and that is a little to chilly for me. I think I need to go even further south.

Back to Winterhaven eh? :L

NO!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! At least not until I am 67 years old and driving an electric powered Lincoln town car

Hey Chris, while I have your attention, how would you go about making up a set of half shaft retention loops for the C4?

You haven't visited my "loops" thread, so I'll ask you here. :D

WHAT!?!!?!? Chris is STUMPED for an answer? :L

Thanks anyway bud. :upthumbs

Chris first off come down south to Port St Lucie area. Housing is very affordable and its considered south florida, just over the weather line. Sebring has race events that you like an hour away and Moroso is an hour south. We have 2 car shows every week all year around. My motives are many but mostly having you closer to see in person what you are up to next in person would be the most interesting :_rock

My 2 cents say keep the 90, just wait awhile as you are mostly there to a great combo, and you have to do way to much to put back to stock only to get peanuts for a car that is now a real contenda! Just take on some jobs that will make good money and in no time the Richmond will be a reality. I told you it would take the old fashioned way!!!!

Man is he in trouble...I found the thread.

--He is more than welcome to spend every penny we currently have on any of his cars. BUT when I want to buy clothes, shoes, etc... he better not say a word. After all I am the all supporting wife. :L :L

--John, No offense, but I have done the central FL thing and I was not thrilled.

--Ken, I am glad you stumped him, I was afraid I was going to have to move out, his ego was taking up too much of the house. :eyerole

Nikki

Nikki, if there was anything I found out about Chris, especially after meeting you both, is that give him a poser and he'll take it and store it for further thought. As a matter-of-fact, he probably mulls it over as he works on something else. ;)

Nikki what is your objections?
We are on the coast not central florida
:)
