Ignition coil last week, now alternator!

Last week I had to replace the coil, today the alternator went. Do you think one may have caused the other to go bad?
 
It's hard to tell with just that much info......what was the voltage readings on your dash before all this started.......If the voltage was to high ,,,it could cause the coil to go bad along with many of the other electrical componants.... How many miles on the alternator could be just the brushes have worn out....

Readings were generally between 13.6 -14.2
 
Could have just been its time to die. The C4 alternators have to endure a lot of heat, so they're known for going through them in a short period of time, compared to other vehicles. I know people who won't leave town without a spare alternator in the back cargo area. :eyerole
 
This was the easiest fix ever. After I bought a new alternator I started to take the old one off. The cap with wires first, and then the hard wire which just fell out of the little metal clamp holding it in. I went and got a new clamp, wired it in, and what do you know? 14.4 amps as soon as I start it up. No alternator needed. Happy ending!
