So, one of my wires got fried from my headers and I was trying to get it out and it was routed through the engine mount. Is this normal on an 81?! I just recently got the car, I know it has headers, but not which kind. It also doesn't have any wire looms. Any of you have a good picture or diagram or explanation of the proper way to route the wires?!

As always THANKS!

Thats the correct routing. If you take a new wire and very gently twist the boot on the plug end it will come off. Then get under the car and route that up through the motor mount. Put the end back on and route the rest of the wire through the clips on the oil pan and at the back of the engine block. Good luck.

Cool man thanks! Any pictures by any chance or diagram. I'd like to do it right when I replace the wires. Thanks Again!

The assembly manual shows the installation and routing of the plug wires, looms, and shields in great detail; if you don't have one, you need one. Best twenty bucks you can spend.

Cool JohnZ. I will check it out. I actually have it, but haven't had much luck finding stuff. I need to order one of the indexes.

I rec'd this from another member. I have the same problem. I have not tried this yet but I will as soon as some free time is avaialble!! Looks like it is from one of the assembly manuals.

Please see attached .zip file of a .pdf file. If you need another format, please reply.

I need to make 3 replies - one for each page. Here is #1:
