Factory service manuals as stated are a must for DIY's.

There is also a good web page to go to: thecorvettemechanic.com. Paul (c4c5) is a world class corvette specialist that contributes to that forum, and he is also on this site at times also. Good luck with it. :)

Welcome to CAC!!!!

Welcome to CAC! :w We have a treasure trove of knowledgeable and helpful people here. Depending on what the problem is, C5 General or C5 Tech might be a good place to start. More than likely, someone else has experienced the same problem and has posted it here, so you could do a search or just post up the problem and let our members give you advice. :thumb

Here are the C5 forums. http://www.corvetteactioncenter.com/forums/1997-2004-corvettes/

Howdy and welcome. I experienced that problem with the wipers on my '04 a few years ago. The udders were clogged with debris and the wiper motor was very wet. I removed the motor, dried it out thouroughly and it has been fine ever since. Good luck with yours.

I would think it has to be in the switch; they do turn off with the key correct?

Wipers won't turn off

Chasing a ghost and you are correct about what they are doing, how much to have the dealer put a new switch in,the wipers worked fine till the car got a car wash at the dealership.Somebody had cut the udders already.

Wipers won't turn off

Wipers did start working correctly for about 5 minutes then went to the same way.

Wiper issue. . . . Won't shut off with switch.

Not sure what a dealer would charge to R & R wiper switch, the switch is probably not cheap, and Corvette would definently be more costly than conventional vehicles and understandably but I don't think you have to pull the steering wheel but not postive. I replaced the trun signal, cruise control stalk/switch on the LH side of the steering wheel a number of years ago, and did not have to remove the steering wheel itself. You would be money ahead if you want to do some of your own work to purchase the factory repair manuals for your Corvette. I bought them for mine years ago and they have more than paid for them self over and over again.

Manuals

Yes your correct about this got to have them.I still have to check the wiper motor after that then i will get the switch done. Thanks

If you're getting power to the motor that would be a good sign; do the differant speeds work when they are on? I suppose the motor could have a short in it but it still has to get it's power from the switch. Might simply run a temporary ground to the motor but for some reason I'm thinking this should be done through the wiring harness. I still think it's the switch but not being there would make it best guess at best.

This is what makes me think it may be a ground issue, or switch. When it work corrctly and quit did you thump on the motor or try grounding it temporarily? Or move the switch back and forth any? Would be interested in what you do find that fixes it, that's how we all learn :thumb
