Car buyers everywhere are waving the white flag.

White/white pearl ended silver's streak of seven years as the world's most popular color for automobiles, according to the DuPont 2007 Global Automotive Color Popularity Report, released Tuesday.

In North America, as well, white is the most popular color, holding 19 percent of the vehicle market. Silver cars make up 18 percent of the market, and black/black effect (a metallic, sparkly finish) 16 percent.

Oh I have one White 05 Silverado, one Black 76 Corvette, one Primered Gray 69 Chevy SWB PU, one Primered Gray 85 Toyota 4X4, and one faded Red 87 300ZX Turbo car to be in primer next year. See primer wins.
;LOL:rotfl

White is the only CLASSY color out there. I expect anyone exiting from a white vehicle to be wearing a top hat and a monocle. I know I do. :D

I was sitting in the dentist's chair the other day waiting for xrays to develop and noticed my red Corvette was the only "colorful" car in the parking lot so I did a count... 13 vehicles - 1 red, 1 black and 11 either white or silver.

Maybe that's the place they did their poll. ;)

Good guys drive white. My first vett was white and my last one will be white. But my next one will be red. :blue:

We have an 06 Grand Prix , it is white, NEVER again a white car. It is the most miserable car I have ever had to wash. No amount of wax makes it easier to get clean. Back to black for me. I do get along with the red on the corvette though. ( all corvettes are red)

The 399 white RFE Z06s put white over the top.;LOL

I've had at least one silver or grey car since 1985, way before it became popular. I'm kinda glad to hear that it may be on a decline in popularity. Now I won't look like a herd follower. It's great, my silver cars almost always look clean. The only exception is when they're covered with salt:(.

And btw, my old 71 was white:D.

All the company (city) cars I had were White... Only white car I've owned was 1974 Corvette ;)

White not always good

Hello In the eightys i managed a General motors dealership in the south island of New Zealand, selling Holdens,On the West coast in the south ,it was very high rain fall area, cold, and by the ocean, a little like San francisco, but colder,We had trouble selling White cars because of rust , A white car will rust a lot quicker than a dark colour, the rain and mousture sits down in the cracks and crevices, and takes alot longer to dry out. so after approx 8 to 10 years rust starts, and is particly bad on white cars, put your hand on the top of a white car in the sun then do the same to say a red car you will know what i mean. regards.
