According to the Log Cabin Democrat newspaper, an employee at Superior Chevrolet in Arkansas attempted to start a 2014 C7 Corvette in the showroom, and ended up driving it right through a plate glass window in the front of the showroom. Supposedly, the Corvette equipped with a manual transmission, was still in gear when the employee started the car.

The Corvette sustained approximately $15,000 worth of damage, $5,000 worth of damage to the dealership, and most likely, an unemployed individual with severely wounded pride. ;LOL

I'm guessing it won't just buff out? :rotfl

Seems implausible. Even my antique C4 has a clutch safety switch! :w

But, don't let me spoil the party! :happyanim:

LOL....I was thinking the same thing. There is no way it could have happened and I hope no one was hurt but it was a riot to read. Thanks for sharing Rob.

Just an excuse to get a new paint job on the Vette. ;)

Now wait a minute..

You can't start a manual unless the clutch is on the floor so that couldn't happen--unless the operator was a moron and released the clutch after the engine was running.

Exactly....Had a friend drive my 02 Mustang into the side of a house by thinking it was in neutral. It was winter and a friend had a 50th b-day party for my wife...and the wife partook a bit too much and I was helping her get to the car, friend said let me run out and get your car warmed up for ya..I said wow, thanks...Apparently he pushed the clutch in to start, then popped it thinking it was in neutral. $5500 later, it was fixed. To this day, he turns red every time I see him.
