I had sent both TAs off to VanSteel for rebuilding; they came back last week so today was installation. Only problem I had was getting the pivot bolt back in....that took a few tries, but got them. I had poly pivot bushings installed and of course when I went to put in the alignment shims the same number would not fit. So off for an alignment next week.

Installed the rear calipers and when I went to bleed the brakes, found the rear section of the master cylinder empty. Might have to pull the master off and bench bleed it, hopefully not. But ran out of time, so it will have to sit until I am able to have the wife help me bleed the brakes.

TAs look just wonderful of course. Another recommendation for using VanSteel for this. Not cheap of course, but should be good for another 100k miles.

If that's your wife in your avatar, more pics of her. If not, pics of your new trailing arms.:upthumbs

Nope not pictures of the wife....she looks better that!!!

nothing special about the rebuilt trailing arms....everyone has seen them before. Van Steel does them in black powdercoat...all clean and shinney, rotors turned and a nice gray powdercoating. But again, nothing different than the standard Van Steel job.

Took it out today for its first test drive. No more rumble from the right rear....and I have a parking brake....first time ever since I got this car in 1999. Wife and I got busy and moved stuff (junk) around and got it into the 3rd bay garage...no more sitting outside under a cover!!!!!! Ye-Haw.

Started this job about three months ago and found the right rear tire had a bubble in the tread...never seen this before. But tires have a 2000 date code on them, so I will be getting a new set before I drive it much more. Besides after spending $1200 on the trailing arms....might as well spend another $500 for tires!!!!!

Thanks goodness I get overtime pay.
