Intake manifold gasket, help

I take PayPal; rrubel@toad.net. I probably have more spares than you need... last I checked, I had almost three full sets. Just about all of them take a hex allen socket, which is better than the torx and seems to be easier to get access to down in the intake.

When using The Right Stuff on the ends of the manifold, that's all you use. No other gasket. And yes, the distributor needs to come out (mark where the rotor is!) - it fits through a hole at the back of the manifold.

Hey - did anyone's intake gasket kit come with a gasket for the distributor?

Nope, but you should be able to pick one up at nearly any parts house.

So, nothing on the sides of the manifold?
Let me know how much to send you.
Thanks

Saxybill, by sides you mean the thin ends, right? Front and rear of the engine? Yes, nothing but The Right Stuff. And you use a thin bead of RTV gasket sealer around the holes on the gaskets that go onto the heads. Both sides.

For the bolts, I'd think $4-$5 would cover USPS Priority shipping pretty much anywhere in the US.

Moonunit, I was looking today. My local AutoZone said they didn't sell them separately, just as part of the manifold gasket set. And I don't think I got one with mine.

Actually, as I now look through my shop manual, they don't even say to use a gasket when replacing the distributor. Hm. Guess I won't, then.

Saxybill1, I got your email saying my PayPal address was invalid. Try typing it again, because if you got to my mailbox then it's correct. My email back to you stating this, though, bounced because your mailbox is full...
[RICHR]

Yea, I know, haven't checked my email lately. I just tried paypal again, ensured the account address was correct and it says the same thing. I copied the message from paypal:

The email address you have entered is invalid. You may have misspelled a word or put extra punctuation at the end of the address. Please check the address and try again.

I know your email addy is correct, but are you sure it's the same for the paypal addy?
Thanks,
Bill

Oh yes, I'm quite sure it's the same address. Let me visit PayPal and see what's up. Is it possible you put a space at the start or end? PayPal wants addresses to be exact.

Yes, I just went and tried it (logged in using my account, went through sending something to myself) and it worked fine.

Well, I just tried it again and the same thing occurred. Let's do this if you don't mind. Send me your address and I'll get you a money order. I really need those bolts.
Thanks

Didn't get to Wal-mart before those people left for the evening... the fam wanted to go to a local amusement park tonight. I'll do it tomorrow, I promise.

I'm checking to see what this code crap is all about. Cripes what a hassle.

:w ´Just noticed 2 of my favorite hot roders here, Moon and rrubel, sorry that I did not chime in before, lately I’ve been over worked and under laid¨, but it looks like you got all of the info you need.:)

:bang The ¨thick¨ manual does require that you have been cloned into the Mr. Goodwrench mold before you see it as a ¨step by step procedure¨ but it is far better than the gerneric books however the Factory Corvette book is really only good for problems with chassis, body, wiring, etc., As far as the engine, induction, ignition, exhaust, and transmission are concerned you are better off with 3rd part reading material.:hb

Moon, Stop posting pictures of my motor:nono … No, not really, I’ve got steel roller rockers; they are not as sexy as your Alloy rockers.:booty
