Intake Manifold

Do you use gasket sealer when installing a intake manifold gasket
 
Yes, on both ends that is what seals the intake to the block (much better than using the rubber inserts), and a thin skim coat around the water jacket ports (that also helps hold it in place if you let it tac up just a bit before dropping the intake in place.
 
Just like Chris said,use a 1/4" bead of silicone on the ends of the manifold instead of the rubber seals and 1/8"bead around the 4 water ports on each corner. I also use a little permatex #2 on the cylinder heads to hold the gaskets in place so they don't move out of place while installing the intake. Torque the bolts in proper sequence to 30ft lbs.
