interior question

While cleaning my 92'2 interior I noticed that the area around the climate controls was hazy, this coating came off when I scratched it with my fingernail. The interior is a mess so this doesn't concern me too much. Is this the way it should look. The part where the coating came off looks almost clear.

Maybe that was the original protective clear film??? I'd pull the rest off!

it won't peel off, i can scratch it off with fingernail. need to see what one is suppposed to look like. any pictures around of a 92?
