When I put my wiper switch in "interval" position, it never works. If the wipers are on the glass when I put it in that position, they usually end up staying put on the glass. Everything else (high, low, washer) works. Any ideas what I should check first?

Joe

Joe,

Have you tried to rotate the interval switch to change the interval time? The wipers should stay on the glass when in interval mode. If it still doesn't work for you then I suspect that the timer has failed. I think, but I'm not certain, that you must replace the whole switch in that event.

Yeah, I tried the knob, but no effect.

When I say that they stop on the glass, I mean even when they are right in the middle on the windshield, not just at the bottom.

The ONE THING...

that I wish my vette had....delay wipers!
Lucky dog. Hope you get it fixed soon.
Heidi

I've been told I can add an aftermarket delay to my wipers, but it wouldn't look pretty. :(

My 81 does not work in intermittent mode. I replaced the switch to fix another probem but it did nothing for the intermittent cycle
My understanding is that the intermittent cycle is operated by a control module else where in the system. Cannot remember exactly where its located ( been a year since I looked into it) I can look it up if your interested. I also remember this box being a little spendy$$$$

Steve is right. There is a pulse control module, GM#14016250. It was discontinued in April of this year. It fits 80-82 models only. The last price was in the $175 - $200 range. I am sure that these guys http://www.contemporarycorvette.com/ would have one if you need one.

So, does my '79 have a separate pulse control module (just a different part number than the '80-'82 module), or is it all in the switch assembly?

Joe

Joe,

I can only find reference to a pulse controller for 80-82. However the same switch is used for 78-82. My best guess is that the pulse timer/control on your 79 is integrel to the wiper motor.

The GM# for the 78-79 pulse wiper control module is 14005004. The 79 wiper switch # is 14029570,which like Dale said is the same as 80-82. The 78-79 module has been discontinued by GM.
