:crazy Has anybody had their radio hooked up so you can play the ipod. I'm interested in 1990 Vette or earlier. If so how did they do it.

ipod sells an adaptor/charger kit for your car. The ipod fits into a dock and both your cars stereo and the dock have to be tuned to the same unused frequency. Only problem is it's a bit big and bulky. Works good in my Blazer- havent had a chance to hook it up in the vette yet, because she's still tucked away in her winter home.

:beer Thanks, I have the set up where you use a FM station , I understand there is away to have a hook up directly into your radio.

I have an Aux-Pod adapter from PAC audio in my Avalanche. It is a direct wire, so there's no FM signal loss. Overall, it sounds good on the Bose system. I am going to get an adapter in the Vette too here in the next few weeks. I think it will sound much better in the Vette with the aftermarket stereo system. The Aux-Pod is universal for all vehicles. PAC offers lots of vehicle specific wiring harnesses to connect it to the radio.

The radio needs some sort of input, which the Bose does not have. Many aftermarket units have one available.

I used a cassette adapter on my original Bose, for a portable CD, as the original Bose(1984) was built with a cassette and no CD. It worked okay, but the capstans spun as if there were a music cassette inserted.
