Wow that's impressive!!!!

Well as some of you know from one of my other threads. I have had to put my Vette purchase on hold for a few years. My daily driver died on me and I needed to get a good daily driver before springing for a 2 door 2 seat sports car in Illinois. I bought a 2005 Jaguar S-Type R to hold me over for a while. Not quite a family car but it does have 390 hp, 4 doors, 85K mile bumper to bumper and looks GOOD.

Time to go sit in it untill I have to go to work.

Who said you can't use a corvette for a daily driver? I do and have fun driving to and from work, not just on sunny weekend days.

It's the snowstorms that hold me back. I travel to Minnesota and Northern WI quite often. That's ok the Jag will do me just fine.

Gotta say that it would be smart to know who the prior owner of a 60K Vette was. Anyone who's pretty savvy about cars can probably make fairly accurate assessments and assumptions about a car on a used car lot, but if I were buying one, I would look for a private party purchase. You can tell an awful lot about a car by looking in the current owners eyes!

Guess I missed it Johnny but it depends on the year of the car. At the price you qouted you must be looking at a 1997 maybe a 1998? Then you have to look at the overall condition of the car as to whether or not its too much. I know a guy here that bought a 2002 Z06 with 48k miles on it and bought it in late 2003 or early 2004. that was a lot of miles on the car and he paid about 33-34 for it. Figure about 15k-17k miles a year for a car. Compare it with other cars of the same mileage and condition. Just because a cr is built for 300K miles and has 60k on it doesn't mean its low milege. You have to compare current mileage with age and condition of the car. 60k on a 1997 to 2001 is good mileage. 1997, 1998, 1999 with that mileage is good but there again if the interior is ragged out or the tires are slick; paint not good, rims rough the obvioulsy not a good buy. I've seen 997s with 100k on them and people asking 18K--nevere did find out what kind of stuff they put in their coffee! :)
