I have seen them in the Moller MT900 and the Ferrari F40, and about every other ricer on the road. BUT...I dont like the speaker enclosures in my dash and am considering fashioning a new dash with molded in pods for small tweeters aimed at the occupants, and then installing mid ranges in the kick panels and 3-ways or seperates in the rear. I like carbon fiber but 20 years ago I was a ricer so my judgement is suspect! I will probably also fashion some CF trim on the door panels and possibly the center console to make it a little more integrated.

Any thoughts?

Do whatever you really like. If you want Carbon Fiber then use it and if others don't like it well too bad for them because they aren't driving the car.

You should remember just how much carbon fiber is used in the construction of the C5-R. And those cars are all American...

sounds great to me. if you do it post some pictures, i would like to do something like that with my 71. robert

If you install it and decide you really don't like it, you can paint it, and still have the benefit of it being lightweight.

Sounds good to me, even pretty darn cool.
I'd like to see pictures of the tweeter pods your building for the upper speakers. Are you going to use the same dash set up for those, so they slip in with a pressure fit?
If so....wanna make me a set too?????????????

Well if I were to make extra's, they wouldn't be especially cheap, might even be pricey. I have started with the center console since I had it out for other things and there is a LOT OF FRIGGEN WORK involved. Hopefully after I make a master plug, the mold off that works well and lasts for a few transfers. The other thing is that the carbon dash is only the skin. It requires an old dash to tear the skin off and bond the carbon too. I don't yet have the ability to make an actual skin that will fit over a whole dash. Nor do I think I am going to make an extra mold without the speaker pods. It is just to much work. But I guess for the right price...

Hopefully the center console turns out, tho it is taking a fair amount of time. Then I will cover the brake console. Then I will work on the dash. Last may be some trim for the door panels in combination with black leather.
