Let’s see I just went over 36 months in November 2005, and I only have 21,000 miles on the car, 2003 Z06. I am the second owner an dthe car has been kept in immaculate condition. I have purchased the extended warranty, the car is garage kept in Jacksonville, Florida, so temperature extreme should not be much of a factor
Well last week I go to operate the passenger window and the window regulator has just died $387.00 plus change, $200.00 warranty deductible.
So last night I stop to get gas, open the gas door, and you guessed it when I go to close it will not close, looks as if the tip which comes out from the opening/release solenoid has broken off, so now back to the dealer, time off work, lost pay, yada, yada.
Is this normal for 36 months?
How hard would it be for me to attempt to change the solenoid, note I do not have a parts manual, and I am guessing this I electrically activated. Plus I do not know if the car has to be jacked up and this accessed via removing the inside wheel well liner or if it is accessible from inside the car from the back. Best to let a dealer do it, eh?
Maybe I am just venting here, but since I did not realize this board uses such tight language filters, I will close with this. In the vernacular there is a popular term for going to the bathroom, doing a number one or two. Well I am getting number one’d off.
