Is your Corvette your daily ride?

Just watched the odom click over to 92k on my '93... It wasn't my daily driver anyway, but man did the miles add up!!!! My every day/work car is a '99 Z24 droptop Cavalier--130thou+ miles and still running like a top (knock wood!!!)
:Steer

I only go in 2 days a week to work, telecommute the other 2 and its only 8 miles one way so I drive my 1985 black 4+3 coupe to work and where ever else I go.

In the summer, it pretty much is my daily driver, unless it's raining. It's just so much comfortable to drive the Camry in rain.

If I don't drive the 'Vette, it's usually when gas prices are high but even then, I was still putting premium in her when it reached $2.50 last summer.

I even drive it to the train station, I'll leave it there for 10 hours with the doors unlocked and it's been all right so far:D

03 Jeep Liberty! No range, no traction in the wet, not happy. Thank God it's a company car. Ordering new Exquinox as a replacement.

I've been very impressed with the drivers up here in Mass. Not many accidents due to bad weather. On the other hand with the drivers in D.C. just the mention of snow causes all kinds of accedents.

I've only been up here for 4 months and you can really see the difference in driving habits up here in the Mass. drivers and the Conn. drivers who come up here to Mass. The Mass. drivers are not as insane as the Conn. drivers. The Conn. drivers never use turn signals when changing lanes, they wait till the last second and make an exit from the far left lane, and they have no problem at cutting you off causing one to get on the brakes hard to avoid an accident. It's almost like a ally fight where anything goes.

H.D.
At least most northern drivers have some skills and courtesey and know when to slow down... Here in California they don't slow till about the 2nd or 3rd day of rain... and if you put your signal on they move to block you from making your lane change... kinda like "Hollywood Squares" on TV... circle gets the square to block !

Trick Question....85K+ miles in the vette since '01....

....but it's been down over a year in that period total!

When running good I've hit $1000/month gas bills a couple of times - which SHOULD just get worse with the new temporary motor - assuming it ever runs right again.

Can't wait until the Gear Vendors arrives any day now to have both some speed (top is 132 now) and some lower gas consumption than the 3.73's give me. (It would be nice if the rest of the car is out of the vettehospital by the time it gets here... :cry )

Other than that I have a small fleet of junkers, including a "Bad Times" Van (85 Chev), a real beat up '71 Mopar and a '79 K5 "with issues".

Real question here in Texas is how often do you drive your ragtop with the top up - mine <5% of the time. (If I had A/C I might more in the summer... :L )

Me- 04 VW Pasat

Wife - 03 Mini Cooper

The vette get the garage for the winter.

I originally planned to use my '85 beauty for a daily driver, (driving to the train station). I wind up using my daughter's Neon most of the time. When I did use the Vette with a little snow(we're talking a dusting), those fat tires like to slip all over, and that's in the driveway:ugh . When I told the Mrs, she approved of me getting a Neon('95) for myself, which I am going to pick up this weekend. :w

My 89 Bronco is my daily driver, I put a new engine in it a few years ago and replaced just about everything that could break on it. It is slow, gets nine miles to a gallon, but it goes over things and pulls things,

me too

Drive my 2001 ford 150 in the winter and summer is my 84 vette with a 383 stroker

Drive everyday, except in rain or snow!!, then take the wife's 04 liberty Renegade

I drive it everyday to work and love every minute of it. It's a blast to drive and a bonus when I take the roof off. Up in Northern Cali I don't have to worry about bad weather as much.

The 06 DSOM is my daily driver.

When I'm not driving that, I'm stuck with the CTS-V.

The 03 AE is my wife's car and I never use it as a daily driver - she does!

Daily drive, a 1985 red Corvette Coupe 4+3. Thats why I have it! even with petrol at $3.19 a gallon as of yesterday.
