I've got tire sensor problems.

I had the run flats removed and replaced them with non-run flats with new rims, the sensors not re-installed (I don't even know if they can be on non-OEM rims). Now I'm getting error messages. This didn't happen immediately, but after a week or so. The message was saying one of the tires was flat - now it's saying to service the sensors. Before I switched out the rims/tires, the mechanic checked with I-don't-know-who and was told if the sensors weren't used, the computer would just freeze the reading to the last pressure reading and no error messages would be thrown. Well they are. Is there a fix for this?

Thanks much and I hope everyone's enjoying their weekends. :w

Thanks so much for your reply. :) Can the sensors be installed on any rims? I was given the impression they were not interchangeable. I actually would like them installed on the new, non-stock rims but didn't think they could be.
