Welcome to the Corvette Forums at the Corvette Action Center!

I've had a very bad day...

Firstly,

YOU are OK. That's the big one.

Now, the car. Did you do a police report. That would help when contacting your insurance company.

This must be an insurance claim. Theirs going to be alot of money in this repair.
Get a good garage for the repair. Even a dealer, if you trust yours.

To replace the window. Be sure it's a GM spec window replacement. Next up, the air bags are important to replace and install correctly. Possibly a dealer only option to fix that. As per your car. Explain what you know to the dealer/or whoever is fixing the car. What you impacted, the speed etc.

Best of luck. Get the car fixed correctly.

Any chance that it was a intersection with cameras?

If the other two cars were running a red, wouldn’t somebody be immortalized on film?

id file a claim airbags are damn expensive and all corvette parts are expensive. Get an estimate and see how much then make your decision. I think youd be best off filing a claim. Talk to your insurance agent.

Best Of Luck,

Yes, talk to your insurance agent, but make sure he/she is up front with you. I'm sure you're aware of this, but just in case...

(hypothetical situation to follow)
Total parts & labor: $900
You deductible: $500
You save: $400
...but your premium goes up by $50 per quarter for the next 3 years: $600

It's actually gonna cost you more to file the claim, and at that, you now have an accident reported as part of your driving record with the insurance co.

I've learned from my own experiences that it's not always in my best financial interest in the long term to file a claim with the insurance co.

im assuming it will be more than 900 dollars. Get an estimate first. Then make your decision based on that. Evolution is right that your insurance will go up. Talk to your agent he will know where to take it from there.

Good Luck,
-Andy
