Welcome to the Corvette Forums at the Corvette Action Center!

I've made my decision

Enjoy the hunt Edmond! It's one thing to shop for a car, but shopping for a Vette, now that's fun!

Edmond,
What color combo are you looking for, anything in particular? Going to consider a Collectors Edition at all?

...I am confused with your "The 6 speeds only came in the LT4's"???
The 1996 Corvettes either had the LT-1 or the LT-4 (the only year Corvette had an LT-4). With that year, only the LT-1 had the auto tranny and the LT-4 had the 6-speed.
Cheers! :beer

I don't know about a color combo but I would like to stay away from red is possible. I'm not a big fan of the color red in general.

Something slightly modded with bolt ons would be nice.

I haven't really thought of much except for that it will be an LT4 coupe, I'm not a big fan of convertibles. With the coupe, I could get some kind of convertible experience with the top off.

Spanish,

That picture doesn't to Jackie justice, he's a much more handsome guy than me!:L

edmond,

enjoy the shopping experience. the lt4 is awesome!!! it's often said that the hp/torque is higher on the lt4 than the ls1...having driven both, i tend to agree with that.

if you find anything in the washington d.c. area, i'll be happy to do the recon for you. i still owe you one from a couple of years ago when i was looking at a '94 in gurney (sp?):beer .

cheers,

Thanks, Tom. Too bad that didn't work out. Actually, it's better because you got more power in the LT4.

I've only had the car up for 24 hours and I've had a little interest. It looks like this could go quick and I can start shopping for the LT4.:D

Edmond,

I live in Chicago near Superdawg. Food? :) I thought that was another thread! :L

Anyway, I have a lot of experience with LT4s. And cars & trucks, also. Owned a repair shop for nearly 20 years. If you want me to help you check one out, just say the word. I would be happy to do that! :upthumbs

And if you find one in the Baltimore area, I'll be happy to check it out. I know a very reliable mechanic who'll go over the car for $50 and point out anything that might need attention.

Rich,

I was kind of hoping that you'd do it for free.:L

I got the North/NorthWest/West Burbs covered for ya... let me know if you need any checking done. I have a friend who is ASE Cert who would gladly look one over with me if you need us too.

I'll keep my eyes and ears peeled at the local shows/cruise nights/vette meetings too.

In Naperville: Corvette LT-4 Collector Edition. 6 speed, 30,500 miles. This is a nice one. Silver interior with almost all options. Brand new Z rated tires. Always garaged. Driven only in nice weather. No hit body and original paint. You won't be disappointed.
PRICE REDUCED $ 24,000 or best offer

I'd be happy to do it for free - but you'd probably get a better picture from Paul (the mechanic)... I'm not an LT4 expert.

I can certainly TEST DRIVE the thing for free!

I was just kidding, Rich.

Just don't let Mad Mic get a hold of it. By the time he gets through with it, the clutch will have a much shorter life and the tires will be with much less tread!:L:L:L Just kidding, Mic.:D

Or he'd decide to buy the car himself...
