Nobody else has reported them fitting without grinding the back of the wheel
Still believe you can do it cheaper.
Prices have gone up since this post but new C5 calipers can still be had under $250 / pr

I believe that the spacer/adaptors and the caliper bracket adaptors make the difference. The bracket adaptor dictates how high the caliper rides on the rotor, and the wheel spacers move the rim in or away from the hub. I was warned by a friend that did it, and went slightly over on the hub spacers and was very specific to the shop that mfg the brackets for the calipers. I think the ZO6 caliper is shorter than the J55 also. For some reason the J55 looks chunky.
Cheaper?
absolutely. I got the whole 9 yds...I bought nicer hub spacers, stainless lines with all new fittings, and nice rotors. You can have a good system without all the extras that I bought.
I went crazy with mine because I have to compete with a buddy that wasted twice the money on Wilwoods for his rustang....and those POS calipers don;t even say Corvette on the side...

I got curious as to why the sawblades might not fit the C5 brake upgrade, and see what it takes...
The sawblade wheel is obviously cone shaped, getting smaller toward the hub. Wider by over an inch at the back side. The calipers are also a similar shape with taller cooling fins in back and very short fins toward the front. So, the only conclusion is wheel spacing and offset is the key. The further the rim is spaced from the rotor the greater the clearence. Easy.
I was told to go more than the required 18mm (3/4") or grind the calipers. I decided to go with a thicker spacer to enhance the footprint, allow for caliper clearence and increase stability. I went 1/4" extra front and 1/2" over on the rear.
I am also told that there are certain Enkies that had a different casting that made them easier to fit while others were thicker or had something different that made fitment more difficult. In the polishing process I could see the difference in the metal with one wheel being from a completely different series. Although the metal had different characteristics the shape/size was exactly the same.
