OK I need a little help and I want to take my spare and jack with me to Bowling Green(just in case). My 93 came without a spare, or jack, so I purchased them. The question is can anyone show me a picture of how the jack spring holds the jack to the spare. I'm clueless.:hb
Thank John:w

I can't believe that no one can help with this. Have I stumped the:CAC The vette is all detailed and ready to leave for Bowling Green on Wednesday!:bu :bu

Is your '93 any different than the '96s? I don't have a jack spring. Just a spare tire carrier and a jack in the storage compartment.

Never mind. I see that this changed in 1994.

I bought a new jack and jack retainer spring from Corvette Central for my '89. If it's the same set up as yours let me know. I will send detailed pics of it tomorrow morning. Took me a couple of tries to figure the thing out but finally after swearing at engineers, it went on...:Steer

Gee, I thought I posted a reply, with a pic of it, in reply to Ken. maybe Bill Gates took it.

Oh, yeah. It had too many pixels or something.

John,
If this is the same set up- here ya go...The curled end goes into one of the lug holes in the wheel....have the top part of the retainer parallel to the top of the jack and lift up like crazy and turn it over the top of the jack untill it clicks in on both sides....see pics.....the force needed to lift the retainer over the flat part of the jack is what holds the jack in place....hope this helps...:Steer

Gee, I would've tried, but every time I think of the hassles I went through with that damn spring... :hb

I never could get it right the first time, and scratched the hell out of the wheel while trying. I actually bent it at one point! :L

Good luck. :upthumbs

That's the way it goes. Now wait until you have to do it again; it'll be just as hard to figure out. :L
