Just joined CAC today, not sure what took me this long to do it because this is a really GREAT site! Glad to see that C4C5 hangs out here too!!

My question arises from a knowledgebase item:

The TSB for front fender "droop" (83-15-13 - (07/17/1998) says to fit "RETAINER (P/N 10412533)" to prevent this.

C4C5, ever done this? Is it a dealer-only or bodyshop job, or if I can get the parts, should I be able to fit these myself?

Hi there, Perry,
Yes, you can fit them yourself. Not a big problem.
Just install about 1 inch from the top of the fender, and attach to the door.
Allthebest, and welcome to the CAC, c4c5:hb

Thanks for the welcome! Very much appreciated, having been hanging out on some of the other fora up to now. Someone posted a reference to here on the CF today and I finally came on over and joined up! :w

And as to "CVCVCV", this = CorVette C5(roman numeral) ConVertible (not necessarly in that order. Would have this for my CA license plate if I ever get around to it!

C4C5, thanks for the quick answer!! I may try and do this sometime before next summer, then!

very neat. I thought for sure Ken might have guessed it.
also the plural of forum ... fora... nice :cool

I am already, the features of the forum software here are really nice, I especially like the "Control Panel" and Forum / Thread registration features, makes following topics MUCH easier than the other fora. Ok now to get back on topic, I just ordered the parts for the "front fender droop" TSB, they are all of $2.80 each from Bob at Fichtner Chevy!

Thanks again to Paul (C4C5) I don't know how he does it and still hold down his day job!
