Hey...

I returned from a business trip tonight. I absolutely fell in love with driving in Germany. No speed limit!!!!!! Heck, my wife was crusing at 220 KPH..which is 145MPH. ManI wish I had my LT-1 with me, although it couldn do 145 in its best day.

the autobuan is a sweet highway complex!!! did you get a chance to get off the beaten path and explore the tight twisty backroads?? hanging out in some of the little towns is a bast as well. glad you enjoyed the trip, i loved my stay over seas!! Brian

Was in Bavaria, Regensburg. My wife however rented a MB kompressor and traveled to Nurenburg, Austria, Munich, and a few other places I cant pronounce. I had to work the entire week.

I love the Autobahn too and luckily, I live 5 minutes from the German border :)

I have driven the C5 at max speed there :D

Swiss Autobahn

I never made it to Germany, but when I went to school in Switzerland, in 1979, the Autobahn there was way cool. One of my roommates had a VW Bug, and we could not get out of the first lane. (each lane had its own speed limit) The two far inside lanes were unlimited speeds except for approaching tunnels. If I remember right, there were five or six lanes.

We would also hitchhike, and caught some really cool rides. Once we caught a Porsche 928 w/ adjustable spoilers so it could be trimmed out for a smoother ride at high speeds. The driver of this Porsche was from New York. He picked us up in Geneva, and took us as far as Lausuanne, near Montreaux. We were easily doing 145-150. I remember that Petrol was about $3.50 per gallon then. No idea what it is now.

It's awesome! I've driven between Munich and Odelzhausen, and visited several other towns. (Augsburg, Regensburg...)

Regensburg was a very, pretty town!

The autobahn does have a speed limit. Whenever it rains, or when you get close to towns/cities, you must obey the signs. In between towns, there is no limit.
