When the divorce is final and you have to sell the car for the settlement.

i'll be happy when she's streetable and capable of 9 second blasts on DR's :D
I have a feeling that some people's idea of "streetable" varies from others... :L

It sure does!:L

My idea of streetable is 400/400, AC, heat, and a loud radio that I can drive for a trip across the country and run low 12's on motor.:D

ok ok! my idea of streetable is being able to put around town during the weekends or taking a weekend trip somewhere.

if i can hit 11.0's and run a nice big shot on her then 9's will be no problem.

just not this go around talk to me next year! :L

i'm hoping for 10's on the jug this year.

  • A/C??? I got a vette! If I need cool air I take the T-tops off and go faster!!
  • Heat??? I got a 350 sitting about 16" from my feet! Who needs a heater core???
  • Loud radio??? If you can hear your radio, then your car is too slow!
I'm with ya on the rest! :L

Evolution,

You gotta leave the windows up because it's better aerodynamics for impromptu stop light to stop light sprints.:D

And I gotta listen to my Pink Floyd.:D

I'm really big into Dark Side Of The Moon right now, even bought the DVD where they showed the making of it. They even showed David Gilmour playing the end of Time on acoustic. You know, the part that goes..."home, home again. I like to be here when I can. When I come home cold and tired... It's good to warm my bones beside the fire..." Yeah, that part. I just love that part.

Rich, are you a Pink Floyd fan?

i love pink floyd. used to be into them big time when i was younger. one of my favorite driving tunes is "Fire Woman" by The Cult. i like listening to hard stuff and feeling the pull :_rock

Pink Floyd's "The Division Bell" is absolutely one of the best. But ya can't go wrong with Dark Side of the Moon, or Animals, or.......well you know what I mean.

Looks like one of us here is going to have to start a Floyd thread in the Off Road Lounge. I could talk about them forever, being one of their biggest fans and all. Though, like Mic, my fandom was a few years back. I've forgotten more knowledge than most 'fans' ever knew... :L
(Funny this came up...I just finished listening to A Saucerful...on the way home and had just enough time to start Astronomy Domine before I pulled in the driveway.)

Been a Floyd fan for about 20 years. DSOTM is great but it's about the only album most people have heard of. WYWH is my personal favorite, but The Final Cut and Animals both have a lot going for them (but do NOT listen to TFC when depressed... esp. the last song or two).

I like so-called classic rock - Floyd, Tull, Rush, Yes (and its offshoots), and the like.

20 years?!??! Aw man, you're such a Johnny Come Lately!!! hahahhah J/K :L

PS - I hate Hijacking threads, so I've started one over in The Offroad Lounge. Click here

(Sorry for the attempted hijack, Mic!)

BTW...did you mean 383 (not 388) in your thread name? I just noticed that the other day.

You'd know more about this than I would... I've heard that due to the longer stroke, boosting the engine isn't necessarily a good thing, such as going on the bottle or any other means of getting away from N/A ("normally aspirated" for the rest y'all :D) Does increasing the both the stroke AND bore make juicing less...ummm..."less not good"? <-- WTF??? :L :L

HuH? :L

well ummm more stroke = more HP and lots more Torque :D it doesn't matter what the stroke or bore is when it comes to nitrous or being force inducted.

383 = standard bore 350 block with a 400 crank.
388 = .060 bore on a 350 block with a 400 crank.

hope this helps :upthumbs

Then what's a 396? (I know I could go look this up myself, but I'm feeling lazy right now :L)

.090 over = 396

i think or maybe .120 over but that is about as much as you can bore a 350 block.
